5_ 1. A mobile lesson plan for #digitalstorytelling

This is my mobile lesson plan for that module and activity I wanted to show.

Mobile Learning & ICT Lesson Plan Template

Lesson Plan Title-
Introducing our group to a foreign group.

Lesson Description (brief)-
Situation .
The teacher has a contact, which started at the end of the last academic year, with a French school. Both teachers are interested in their students’ using foreign languages to communicate.
Therefore, the task is to create a videostory (3,2,1 presentation consisting of three things they would like to tell others about themselves, two things they did and liked last summer and one thing they would like to do or to be in the future.) to introduce the members of the group as a start point for communication with the French group.
Age Group-
15-year-old students (4º ESO). A special group of students with low academic achievement profile but they enjoy interaction with people and ICTs since their selfsteem increases when they manage to do something different in the classroom.

Duration-
2 weeks, 8 periods of 1 hour. There are 2 hours' time for emergency needs and security buffer.
Objectives-
  1. Fostering group work.
  2. Increasing self-steem
  3. Fostering individual responsibility towards the group mission.
  4. Writing personal texts
  5. Interpreting texts.
  6. Organizing video recording
  7. Shooting, editing videos.
  8. Using mobile devices: smart phones and digital photocamera.
  9. Peer evaluation: process, participation.
  10. Self-evalutation of process, participation and product.

Classroom Set-up (Please include a description of your class setting)-
An ordinary classroom with desks, chairs, one teacher desk, one personal computer, connected to school server, one interactive digital board, one traditional blackboard A lab (accessible once a week) with 30 booths with 30 pcs, teacher post with pc. Connection to school server (intranet), Google mail accounts, the application Magisto.

Materials/Handouts-
  1. Storyboard template
  2. Texts written by students for a 3,2,1 presentation consisting of three things they would like to tell others about themselves, two things they did and liked last summer and one thing they would like to do or to be in the future.
  3. The following evaluation documents and their worksheets for Google doc based items.
  4. Students' Foreign Laguage Portfolio.
1. Conclusions
2. Intergroup story
3. Peer evaluation
4. Storytelling rubric
5. Storyboard rubric

Apps/Web Tools/ Technology-
This is what I wrote succinctly in the previous delivery:
Students will use their smart phones, digital cameras and the videos will be produced and edited with Magisto in either of its possibilites (application or web).

Pre-teach-
The following items will be explained amd taught to students before action: video editing, storyboard, template, system of evlauation, instruments of evaluation, plannning, roles in a group.
Detailed Lesson
Before the Task- (half a session)
  1. The teacher will explain the reason, mission, task, products, timing, evaluation.
  2. The preteaching will be done.
  3. The phases (brainstorming, storyboarding, the capturing/ creation/ gathering of content, edits, final submission, viewing, feedback, and assessment) will be detailed.
  4. Tools and organization will be explained.
  5. Students will form the work groups and teacher will accept them and register their names.
Explanation
During the Task- ( 60-minute sesions unless otherwise stated)
Session 1 (90minutes)
Students will reconsider and or accept the group members.
Students will receive the storyboard template.
Students will start the storyboard.
Students will decide on the storyboard.
Students will recover their 3,2,1 presentations from their foreign language digital portfolios.
Students will coedit their texts and will produce support material for the presentation.
Students will decide where to film and the props to be used, if any.
Sesion 2. (90 minutes)
Students will decide the final storyboard and texts.
Students will memorise the texts.
Studen will rehearse their texts.
Students will get used to the use of their recording devices.
Students will get used to the use of the production and edition tool.
Students will shoot the film.

Sesion 3
Students will view and edit the film.
After the Task-
Sesion 4
Students will evaluate their perr groups' stories by using the evaluation documents.

Presentation-
Sesion 5
Students will show their stories again and upload them (Padlet) to share them with the French school.
Sesion 6
Videoconference (Skype) with the French school.

Assessment-
Students will be evaluated with the following documents
1. Conclusions
2. Intergroup story
3. Peer evaluation
4. Storytelling rubric
5. Storyboard rubric
Documents 4 and 5 will be used by the teacher and ther rest of evaluation documents will be completed by the students. Each document represents a 20 percent of the total mark. It is extarodinarily important to know that no evaluation will be done without the first document (Conclusions), that is to say Conclusions is a requisite to be evaluated and receive a positive mark. The absence of that document will mean a fail.
Additional Notes/Tips for Success-
2 weeks, 8 periods of 1 hour were scheduled. That schedule allows for 2 periods' time for emergency needs and security buffer. The plan is totally contextually to the realityof the infrastructure (premises, services, classrooms, organisation, timetable, tools and machines) of our school and the class group.

ANONYMOUS OCTOBER 29,
2016

Manuel F. Carro

Time to lose, is it what Rosco did not have at all?. Yes, that was right. He could not, he should not, he would not waste any other second because he was most impressed by the terrible morning wake: an unknown disagreeable masked guy,   that red box, that packet of cigarettes
,that horrible clown, that terrifying message, the ammount of money. What on earth did those people think he coud do to get the money, to save his dearest Johnson, to defend his life
?  A poor accountant, that Amanda, that singing with Johnson and that terrible, that disabling, that paralyzing doble vision wiht such an unbearable headache.....He went straightaway into his kitchen,    he made coffee. Later, he opened the cupboard. Then ,he took out the most scentful piece of that delicatessen called in Spain, "Jamón Ibérico". Ham was not a good enough  good term to translate  that glorious delicatessen. Next, he  cut two almost transparent slices and ate them up. The scent, the taste, the aroma took both the double vision and the headache away. They disabling symptons had just disappeared and now he had to something serious about the kidnap....

DST2. Comics that express feelings.

Let me tell you about my experience making comics and the tool I used.

2,3,4-panel comics can be created and they can be created in several languages.

It is an intuitive, user-friendly tool that helps you out to make your comic true. There is an instant help menu, you do not have to register, you can choose objects, scenes, balloon, panel prompts, characters and words from the easy-to-use galleries.

It was created by Bill Zimmerman, the art work was done by Tom Bloom and you create your own comics with the offer of the options mentioned above.

It could be improved by offering the opportunity to generate an URL since you cannot store it on their cloud and no codes can be genrated. Therefore, you will have to save it in your disk or to print it and save in your disk or to email it to yourself or friends.

In conclusion, an exciting and interesting tool which is easy to use, student-friendly and safe for students. It is ready to be used with students and I will.
